The representative of Ikorodu Federal Constituency, Rep. Babajimi Benson has assured Nigerians that the National Assembly will pass the State Police Bill into law in the next three to four months.
He said that the bill would among others be the focus of the lawmakers when they resume back for legislative business.
Rep. Benson who is the Chairman, House of Representatives’ Committee on Defence lauded the impacts of the federal government on infrastructural developments of Ikorodu Federal Constituency, and also spoke on how kidnapping of residents which was rampant until recently at Igbe and Agunfoye communities was curtailed.

The three – term lawmaker spoke on the issues on Television Continental (TVC) a few days ago, when he disproved the claim of a sitting governor allegedly stating that President Bola Tinubu is delaying the establishment of state police to help the country’s security architecture.
“It will be inappropriate if he says such. The State Police Bill is at present in the Parliament. We are resuming on the 2nd and the State Police Bill among others is on the front burner. Nigerians will very soon have state police.
“We are at the last mile and in the fullness of time, maybe two to three months, we will have the state police.”

Speaking further, Rep. Benson said:
“A sitting governor who is a Presidential aspirant of a funny party will say anything to grab the headlines.
“It is the responsibility of the Parliament to tender bills to Mr President and we are putting this on the front burner. So, it is a cheap political vibe to say that the bill has been delayed by Mr President,” he added.
